The First-Year Experience

Wednesday, April 5
This live Zoom session highlights the first-year experience at W&L with information about the orientation process, including The Leading Edge trips, what to expect over the summer and when you arrive on campus, and more! Hosted by Jason Rodocker, Associate Dean of Students and Dean for First-Year Experience, Ronda Bryant, Associate Dean of Students, and First-Year Orientation Committee (FYOC) co-chairs Margaret Thompson '24 and Ben Bankston '25.

Study Abroad and Spring Term

Thursday, April 13
This session will highlight student opportunities for studying abroad during their W&L career as well as an in-depth look into our four-week Spring Term. This session will be hosted by Cindy Irby, Study Abroad Advisor, Jillian Murphy, Study Abroad Coordinator, and current students.

Activities and Affinities

Thursday, April 20
This session, hosted by Tamara Futrell, Dean for Diversity, Inclusion and Student Engagement, and Laura Ulmer, Director of Student Activities, will focus on the University’s commitment to creating a welcoming community for all. In this session, Dean Futrell and other Office of Inclusion and Engagement staff members will share more about support and affinity opportunities for students with a variety of experiences, cultures, points of view, interests, and identities, while Dr. Ulmer will share more about student clubs and organizations not under the umbrella of the Office of Inclusion and Engagement.

Career and Graduate Exploration

Thursday, April 27
This session, hosted by Molly Steele, Director of Advising for Career and Professional Development, and Lisa Alty, Professor of Chemistry and Pre-Health Adviser, will focus on internship, career, graduate, and fellowship opportunities available at W&L.
