Since 1999, Arkansas Commitment has provided free supplemental counseling to students within the Central Arkansas Area with the goal of equipping the students of Little Rock with the leadership skills, the academic prowess, and the exposure to institutions of higher learning to ensure a successful transition from high school to college.

National and Regional Partnerships
Chicago Scholars are academically ambitious, first generation college students from under-resourced communities in Chicago. This seven-year program helps them to navigate the complex transitions into college, through college, and beyond to a career.
College Greenlight’s online platform connects community-based organizations, high schools, colleges and scholarship providers. Its platform assists high-achieving first-generation and traditionally underrepresented students in overcoming the challenges of college access, undermatching and affordability.
The National Partnership for Educational Access is a membership association for organizations, programs, and institutions that are committed to educational access for underserved students. NPEA has more than 340 members in 36 states. NPEA organizational members collectively serve more than 500,000 underserved students nationwide each year.
QuestBridge is a national nonprofit that connects exceptional, low-income youth with leading colleges and opportunities. QuestBridge aims to increase the percentage of talented low-income students attending the nation’s best colleges and to support them to achieve success in their careers and communities. W&L has been a QuestBridge partner institution since 2009.
Strive for College connects aspiring college students with free, one-on-one, online mentoring through the entire college admissions and financial aid application process. Strive’s I'm First initiative focuses on providing specific resources, tools and support for first-generation college students.
Through community partnerships, Say Yes to Education galvanizes cities around the goals of every public school student not only graduating high school – but doing so with the support to attain, afford and complete a postsecondary education. 120 private colleges and universities comprise the Say Yes High Education Compact, which offers scholarships to qualified applicants.
The American Talent Initiative seeks to substantially expand access and opportunity for talented, low- and moderate-income students at the nation’s colleges and universities with the highest graduation rates.
This alliance of college and university leaders is dedicated to increasing public understanding of how immigration policies and practices impact students, campuses and communities.
